### Position Overview
In this role, you will be instrumental in steering operations and administrative functions within a designated area. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, you will lead a talented team and ensure that all operations align with financial goals, including budgeted revenue and profitability targets. This position combines operational acumen with business management responsibilities across various functions.
### Key Responsibilities
**Operations Management**
  • Oversee all operational activities to ensure alignment with annual revenue and profitability targets.
**Crew and Equipment Oversight**
  • Supervise the assignment and dispatch of crews and equipment, promoting efficient utilization for maintenance and projects.
**Administrative Duties**
  • Manage the accurate reporting of area-specific administrative functions, including employee time, accounts receivable/payable, and billing. Lead the local administrative team as necessary.
**Budget Management**
  • Develop, manage, and forecast area budgets, including equipment needs and annual CAPEX budgets.
**Personnel Management**
  • Oversee personnel within the area and collaborate with the Regional VP and HR to forecast growth needs, set headcount, and conduct evaluations.
**Resource Allocation**
  • Collaborate with the Regional VP and other area managers to allocate personnel and equipment resources effectively across the region and company.
**Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards**
  • Establish and uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in collaboration with the HSE Manager to implement and manage the program.
**Compliance**
  • Ensure adherence to all government and HSE regulations within the area.
**Maintenance Planning**
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance plan for all assigned equipment, including vehicles and tools.
**Facilities Management**
  • Oversee the maintenance of local facilities and infrastructure.
**Additional Duties**
  • Undertake related tasks as required.
### Skills and Qualifications
  • **Industry Knowledge**: A general understanding of rail maintenance and construction operations.
  • **Leadership and Management**: Proficient in managing operations, personnel, and processes effectively.
  • **Technical Proficiency**: Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • **Organizational Skills**: Skilled in multitasking and meeting strict operational and administrative deadlines.
  • **Adaptability**: Capable of thriving in dynamic environments with a flexible approach to prioritization.
