Get It Recruit - Executive is Hiring a Senior Director of Facilities and Operations Management Near Los Angeles, CA

The PositionYou will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, performance, and management of our Facilities and Maintenance Department, overseeing a team of over 90 staff members. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our growth and ensuring the highest quality work environments for our employees, participants, and visitors.
Responsibilities
  • Managing Staff: Lead and mentor Directors of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations. Guide daily operations, develop annual work plans, and manage budgets. Ensure team morale is high and departmental goals are met. Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and resolve conflicts to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Facilities & Maintenance Operations Management: Oversee lease agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and legal requirements. Develop and manage systems for tracking work orders, and ensure facilities meet all regulations. Manage inventory and coordinate special events. Handle complex facility issues and ensure high service standards.
  • Fleet Management: Supervise the maintenance and operation of the organization's fleet, including staff shuttles. Develop policies, manage budgets, and oversee vehicle acquisition and maintenance. Analyze performance data to improve efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Kitchen Management: Ensure kitchen operations adhere to health and safety regulations. Develop safety guidelines, manage budgets, and oversee food service quality. Coordinate with program staff on the Food Wellness Program and handle vendor compliance.
  • Capital Projects: Manage all phases of capital projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor selection. Ensure projects align with organizational goals and are completed on time and within budget. Maintain thorough project documentation and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Lease Management: Oversee lease administration and ensure maintenance and repairs are managed effectively. Handle disputes and maintain positive relationships with tenants and landlords.
  • Audit Inspection: Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement processes.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Security, IT, Risk Management, and HR to ensure facility safety and emergency preparedness. Foster positive relationships with community organizations and staff.
  • Other Duties: Prepare reports, maintain records, and address complex inquiries. Be on-call and available for evenings and weekends as needed. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
What You're Skilled At
  • Extensive experience managing large facility portfolios and supervising various operations.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety laws, maintenance methods, and building codes.
  • Expertise in building systems, budget management, and project management.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Effective leadership, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with work order systems.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish/English are a plus.
What You've Accomplished
  • Bachelor's degree in business, facility management, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management or facility operations.
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive management experience.
