ScionHealth is searching for a highly skilled Vice President to head our Health Information Management Services (HIM) department. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Revenue Cycle, this role is crucial in overseeing the management and upkeep of patient medical records to ensure compliance with regulations and uphold a culture of excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated team of HIM personnel to ensure the accurate and timely completion of record management tasks.
• Manage the collection, analysis, and storage of health information, adhering to quality and ethical standards.
• Supervise the coding process to guarantee accuracy for reimbursement and clinical care purposes.
• Collaborate with physicians to improve documentation quality.
• Interface with legal counsel regarding medical record content.
• Monitor and report on HIM Key Indicators to enhance performance.
• Optimize DNFB and Bill Holds with facilities in alignment with industry standards.
• Work collaboratively to reduce denial write-offs.
• Develop and enforce HIM policies and procedures to comply with regulations.
• Provide leadership, training, and evaluations for HIM leaders and staff.
• Analyze departmental needs and establish objectives that align with organizational goals.
• Demonstrate exceptional time management and responsiveness.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and trends.
• Lead technology deployment initiatives to boost productivity.

QualificationsEducation:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in Health Information Management, Business, or related field.

Experience

• Progressive experience in Health Information Management within a hospital or healthcare system, with a minimum of three years in a management or supervisory role.

Licensure/Certification

• RHIA and RHIT certifications preferred.
