Get It Recruit - Finance is Hiring an Accounting Manager - Team Leadership & Client Engagement Specialist Near Sacramento, CA

Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, overseeing recurring tasks, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring timely and responsive client interactions. Your leadership will drive departmental growth, foster excellent customer service, and involve regular reporting to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Department Growth and Management:
    • Foster growth and oversee the effective management of the accounting team.
  • Recurring Task Management:
    • Ensure all recurring tasks are completed by the end of each month.
    • Assign tasks to team members with clear deadlines and budgeted time.
    • Document processes through video or text for clarity.
  • KPI Tracking:
    • Identify and track KPIs.
    • Update the KPI spreadsheet weekly using system reports.
  • Client Responsiveness:
    • Aim to respond to 90% of client inquiries within one business day.
  • Deadline Management:
    • Ensure 98% of deadlines are met by team members (tracked via ClickUp).
  • Onboarding and Account Management:
    • Oversee the client onboarding process to ensure timely integration.
    • Identify additional client needs or services to enhance satisfaction.
  • Customer Service and Staff Supervision:
    • Maintain a strong customer service mindset.
    • Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with staff to support their development.
  • Profitability and Reporting:
    • Monitor average realized hourly rates by client to meet profitability standards.
    • Ensure monthly close reports are completed and distributed by the 16th of each month (target date: 10th).
    • Review Helpscout response times and client retention rates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with nonprofits is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, ClickUp, Helpscout).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff mentoring and development.
  • Willingness to work West Coast hours.
