Job DescriptionResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage cost accounting processes and complete cost allocations for federal grants and manufacturing cost centers.
- Lead and support the accounting team through training, process improvement, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring timely payments and maintaining vendor and client relationships.
- Monitor cash balances to meet financial commitments and forecast future cash needs.
- Prepare reports summarizing company financial activity and assist in budget preparation and reviews.
- Coordinate audits and prepare regulatory reports and tax returns.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end close tasks and accuracy of financial reports.
- Analyze financial data and communicate findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control processes.
- Experience in non-profit/foundation accounting preferred.
- Strong accounting background with knowledge of GAAP.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Familiarity with advanced accounting software.
- Experience in GL and programmatic/cost accounting.
- Knowledge of tax law, GAAP requirements, and audit standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; advanced degrees (CPA, MBA) preferred.
