## Overview
An exciting opportunity is available to join a dedicated team at Ramstein AFB, Germany, supporting a critical IT services program operating 24/7. This position focuses on managing and safeguarding COMSEC material, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of IT mission environments.
## Key Responsibilities

• **COMSEC Management**: Responsible for the receipt, custody, issuance, safeguarding, accounting, and possible destruction of COMSEC material.
• **Shipping and Handling**: Assist in the shipping of cryptographic products and key material, accommodating items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• **System Utilization**: Utilize the Distributed Information Security (INFOSEC) Accounting System (DIAS) for effective management of COMSEC records.
• **Equipment Maintenance**: Conduct Field Tamper Recovery (FTR), upgrade cryptographic device firmware, and ensure compatibility of firmware versions across enterprise encryptors.
• **Encryptor Knowledge**: Manage General Dynamics TACLANE network encryptors (KG-175A, KG-175D, KG-175G) and GEM-X High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) Manager.
• **Out-Of-Band Key Transfer**: Plan and execute remote rekeying for enterprise encryptors using the GEM-X HAIPE Manager.
• **Network Requirements**: Exhibit experience in Suite-A and Suite-B network environments and understand architecture and key material requirements.
• **Technical Skills**: Read and interpret complex network drawings and perform installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment.
• **Training and Oversight**: Provide training and oversight to personnel at both local and remote sites on various COMSEC devices.
• **Incident Response**: Utilize software applications such as Remedy and JIRA for incident response and engage in special projects as needed.

## Minimum Qualifications

• **Security Clearance**: Active in-scope TOP SECRET security clearance.
• **Education**:
• Bachelor's degree in fields like Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering; or
• Master's degree with two years of relevant experience; or
• No degree but 11 years of general experience, including five years of specialized experience.
• **Experience**: A minimum of four years of practical experience with COMSEC, including at least one year in a specialized role.
• **Certification**: Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Certification and completion of the COMSEC Custodian Course or equivalent.
• **Additional Requirements**: Must be available for overtime, after-hours work, weekends, and holidays if necessary. Willingness to obtain a Technical Expert certification from the German Government.

## Preferred Qualifications

• **ITIL Foundation Certification**: Experience in COMSEC account administration and management.
• **Operational Knowledge**: Familiarity with US Air Force IT operational and technical requirements.
