Get It Recruit - Finance is Hiring a Federal Contract Specialist - Financial Management & Closeout Near Washington, DC

OverviewJoin our dynamic team as a Contract Specialist, where you’ll be an integral part of a dedicated group within the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate Office of Finance and Budget Division (FBD). We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about providing top-notch financial management support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Closeout: Manage the end-to-end process of contract closeouts, including preparing and submitting closeout packages for review.
  • Financial Analyst Support: Assist with processing Procurement Requisitions (PRs), liaising with Program Management Offices, and providing essential documentation to complete PR packages.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Create and maintain financial reports, including Open Commitment and Expiring Period of Performance Reports. Prepare and submit required documents like HSAM, Appendix G, and FITARA.
  • Process Improvement: Update Standard Operating Procedures and support audit requests.
  • Team Support: Mentor and coach junior team members, and assist with other Financial Analyst duties as needed.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and PRISM for various financial and reporting tasks.
Qualifications
  • Experience: At least 2 years of contract closeout experience with the federal government.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the full lifecycle of government awards, including obligation, modification, and closeout of contracts and Interagency Agreements (IAAs). Working knowledge of the PRISM database is highly desired but not required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain an EOD Public Trust Clearance.

  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
