About The RoleAs a mid-level Professional in Engineering Cost Accounting, you will play a key role in evaluating, controlling, and processing transactions for complex customer agreements. Collaborating closely with Engineering Program Teams, you will ensure accurate accounting for long-term projects while understanding the related financial implications. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days remote, providing a flexible work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting, Control, and Compliance:
    • Manage end-to-end processes and ensure compliance for complex tasks, including journal and account reconciliations.
    • Adhere to internal policies and grasp technical accounting aspects such as project accounting, revenue, cost accounting, and COPA cycles.
    • Participate in balance sheet reviews and complete quarterly variance schedules.
    • Drive process and control compliance, addressing any deficiencies and keeping stakeholders informed.
    • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, resolve aged items, and maintain documentation for audits and SOX compliance.
  • Business Partnership and Process Improvement:
    • Foster transparent accounting practices and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
    • Review and enhance processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and working with the team to implement changes.
    • Collaborate with the business on new initiatives, managing queries from various stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience with a major consulting firm
  • U.S. citizenship required due to defense contract work
