Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of mortgage loan documentation to ensure compliance with company, investor, and government guidelines.
- Assess credit packages and collateral for residential mortgage loans, aiming for the highest quality loan products.
- Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate loan decisions clearly and promptly to relevant parties.
- Assist processors and loan officers with guideline interpretations and specific loan file questions.
- Demonstrate expertise in automated underwriting systems and guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy of all calculations and data.
- Meet or exceed production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Handle exception items and resolve complex issues as they arise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Underwriter, specializing in DPA products and manually approved government loans.
- Strong background in underwriting VA and FHA loans; USDA experience is a plus.
- DE, LAPP, and SAR certifications are required.
- Familiarity with investor overlays and ability to research guideline updates.
- Excellent skills in appraisal analysis and understanding of current HUD and investor guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet critical deadlines.
- Proficiency in FHA/VA lending guidelines and their relation to internal and investor policies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Team player with the capability to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
- Willingness to adapt to change.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with Byte is ideal.
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods.
- Occasional movement within the office environment.
- Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; ability to stoop, bend, stand, and reach.
- Competitive salary range: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year.
