Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Collections Specialist to join our team remotely. This role focuses on the timely collection of third-party and private pay receivables.
Job Description
  • Remote Position: Must reside in the Greater Houston area
  • Prior medical collections experience highly preferred; any level of experience considered
  • Familiarity with CMS policies, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and contracts is advantageous but not required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
  • Ideally three (3) years of experience in hospital business office or medical-related fields
  • Basic knowledge of business office procedures, patient billing, or collection/reimbursement processes in healthcare settings preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, 10-key, and basic math skills
Principal Responsibilities
  • Review incoming correspondence promptly and take appropriate actions
  • Analyze accounts for errors, adjustments, and credits, making necessary corrections
  • Document communications accurately and comprehensively
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for junior team members

  • Ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Support department goals through professional growth, continuing education, and skills competency
