About The RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. As a Scrum Master, you will play a crucial role in guiding and coaching our agile teams to deliver high-quality data products. This is a remote position with a 12-month contract, offering an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects in the banking and finance sector. Key Responsibilities
Agile Leadership: Exhibit behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader, helping the team embrace SAFe core values, adopt and apply SAFe principles, and implement SAFe practices.
Team Support: Support the team rules of Scrum, eliminate impediments, and lead efforts for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
Data Engineering Understanding: Customize approaches, processes, and artifacts to meet the team's delivery needs based on a solid understanding of Data Engineering work and contexts.
Sprint Management: Ensure the team commits to sprint goals effectively, meets sprint and overall PI goals, and facilitate the achievement of these goals.
Backlog Management: Ensure that goals, scope, and product backlog items are understood and can be fulfilled by team members.
Training and Collaboration: Engage with the team in planning and delivery training, and collaborate with Product Owners and requirement owners to identify and clarify the scope of business/system requirements.
Communication Improvement: Support the team's efforts to improve communications and relationships with other delivery teams, representing the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS).
Performance Enhancement: Challenge old development norms to improve performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
Scrum Ceremonies: Facilitate scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Up, Refinement, Retrospective, Sprint Review) efficiently and assist in removing blockers/impediments.
Backlog Grooming: Facilitate backlog grooming and estimation using Story-Point (SP).
Tool Management: Ensure work is estimated and tracked using Azure DevOps (ADO), review the ADO team board regularly, and ensure the team updates ADO properly.
Coaching: Coach the team in scaled agile practices and help them use ADO effectively.
Metrics Analysis: Capture and analyze metrics to help the team improve.
Status Tracking: Track team status of PI and Sprint goals, dependency, and risk logs using ADO.
Team Protection: Protect the team from outside interruptions.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Agile Project Management: Significant experience in agile project management, with strong fundamentals in advanced analytics, data integration, and visualization.
Scrum Master Experience: Proven working experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
Certifications: At least one certification such as CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe SSM, SAFe RTE, or SPC.
Agile Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with agile tools such as ADO, JIRA, or Version One.
Agile Coaching: Extensive experience in leading, guiding, and coaching agile or SAFe teams.
SAFe Framework Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the SAFe framework, including principles, values, and practices, and the ability to implement them in real-world projects.
Data Engineering Insight: Basic understanding of Data Engineering and its value to the organization.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Adaptability: Ability and willingness to continuously learn new skills necessary to effectively perform the role of Scrum Master.
CI/CD Experience: Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Team Collaboration: Excellent team player with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive Experience: At least 10 years of agile project management experience and 5 years of working experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
Advanced Degree: Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Data Engineering Experience: Hands-on experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Tester.
Banking/Finance Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in banking, finance, or investments, with familiarity with industry standards, terminology, concepts, business processes, and systems.
