DescriptionWe are a pioneering medtech company dedicated to advancing surgical precision through innovative technology. Our flagship product, the ArthroFree® System, is the first FDA-cleared wireless camera for arthroscopy and endoscopy. By eliminating cumbersome camera cables, we empower surgeons with enhanced dexterity, focus, and precision, ensuring uninterrupted attention on patient care. We began the commercialization of ArthroFree in 2023 and are rapidly growing.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our financial integrity, enhancing internal controls, and supporting our continued growth. You'll work closely with our CFO and contribute to the transition of our accounting function from an outsourced provider to an in-house team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and update QuickBooks Online (QBO), ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Oversee the accounting close process, including account reconciliations and coordination with external auditors.
  • Design and generate ad-hoc managerial reports to support departmental decision-making.
  • Document and enhance internal controls to align with the company's size and complexity.
  • Handle multiple transaction cycles, including purchasing, accounts payable, inventory/CoGS, cash management, sales, and collections. (Note: Payroll and benefits are managed by an external provider.)
  • Assist the CFO in transitioning the accounting function to the in-house team.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in documenting and improving internal control systems.
  • Ability to interface effectively with external accounting professionals and internal team members across all levels.
  • Strong working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
  • Ability to work independently, including with remote team members.
  • Experience in training and mentoring team members.
  • Experience in an inventory and manufacturing environment is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Expert proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with the following software is preferred:
    • QuickBooks Online (QBO) or similar accounting software
    • Bill.com
    • Pulley or CARTA
    • HubSpot
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
  • 5 years of experience in accounting or senior-level bookkeeping.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
Physical DemandsThis role requires typical office-based physical activities, including talking, hearing, sitting and standing for extended periods, walking, repetitive motion using a keyboard and telephone, and occasionally lifting and carrying supplies. Visual acuity for computer monitor use and reading is also necessary.
