Get It Recruit - Finance is Hiring a Remote Sr. Accountant 100% Remote - WFH

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Accountant who will play a pivotal role in delivering timely and accurate financial information to management, auditors, and regulatory authorities. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing insights through meticulous analysis. This position demands a keen eye for detail, the ability to handle confidential data, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within the Property and Casualty (P&C) Accounting realm.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual processing of accounting data for reporting obligations.
  • Address inquiries from management, auditors, and regulatory bodies promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Coordinate responses to external audit requests and state examinations.
  • Generate and present analytical reports to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate across departments to assist with accounting issues and special projects.
  • Mentor and support Accounting team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Work closely with the PC Accounting team to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Manage monthly financial statements and oversee the property and casualty reinsurance program.
  • Calculate and apply annual intercompany allocations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain schedules for quarterly and annual statements in alignment with NAIC's SSAPs.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee the general ledger system, including new account approvals and accounting period maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, consolidating, and interpreting accounting data.
  • Experience in supervising or delegating work assignments.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills in critical situations.
  • Proficiency in filing, bookkeeping, recording, and computational skills.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Microsoft Office software.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or insurance designations preferred.
