QualificationsRequired:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
Ability to complete State-approved continued education units as a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) within one (1) year of employment
Experience In Substance Abuse Or Mental Health Field, IncludingDelivering direct therapeutic services (group and individual)
Crisis intervention skills
Assessments, treatment planning, and treatment team participation
Case management
Utilization of tools such as DSM 5 and ASAM criteria
Ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
Skills RequiredAdherence to ethical guidelines of the profession and maintenance of current CEU's for licensure
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
Punctuality and consistent reliability in reporting to work
Ability ToBe a team player, demonstrating motivation, discretion, and dependability
Build rapport with clients and staff while maintaining clear therapeutic boundaries
Maintain confidentiality and treat everyone with dignity and respect
Utilize proficient computer skills and electronic communication tools
Job ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments for substance abuse problems and/or psychological/psychiatric problems/disorders using diagnostic criteria from the DSM 5, ICD 10, and ASAM
Establish and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating a Strengths-Based Model and meeting state agency standards, with client input and ongoing review
Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions as needed, tailored to each client's unique needs, goals, and strengths
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to address clinical concerns and provide case conceptualization
Assist in identifying and managing "at risk" clients, including crisis intervention and appropriate interventions
Provide case management, including coordination of care, referrals, and collaboration with other local agencies
