Job SummaryAs a Medical Billing Specialist, you will collaborate closely with our AR Specialist II, Team Lead, and Supervisor to address and resolve billing issues efficiently. Your responsibilities will include researching systems for updated demographic information, following up on patient billing inquiries, and ensuring accuracy in claim handling. You'll play a crucial role in updating claims, reviewing EOBs, and coordinating with insurance adjusters to resolve billing discrepancies. Essential FunctionsCollaborate with AR Specialist II, Team Lead, and Supervisor to evaluate and rectify billing issues.
Research systems to update demographic information and follow up on patient billing inquiries.
Review accounts in the billing system to verify and rectify claim handling.
Update and reprocess claims as necessary.
Review and update posted adjustments accurately.
Verify accuracy of payment posting from EOBs.
Locate and post checks not yet processed in the system.
Delegate work effectively to team members and other departments as needed.
Follow up with auto insurance adjusters regarding billing status.
Investigate patient inquiries and provide account handling instructions to billing service.
Report trending errors or issues to the Supervisor promptly.
Assist in handling escalated issues from Customer Service and PI Billing Representatives.
Utilize coded data to prepare and submit claims using CMS 1500 forms.
Work directly with insurance companies, attorneys, and patients to process and resolve claims.

Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School diploma required; Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in full Revenue Cycle Management (RCM); strong knowledge of Medical Billing and HIPAA guidelines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint); familiarity with Imagine EMR system preferred.
