Engage with patients and customers over the phone daily, addressing questions and processing payments with care.
Accurately code patient visits each day, ensuring proper billing and compliance.
Collaborate with team members to answer billing and insurance-related questions.
Participate in a weekly rotation for billing patient visits, contributing to a smooth workflow.
Communicate with insurance companies regularly to resolve payment issues and ensure timely claims processing.
File electronic insurance claims and appeals, and respond to claim denials as needed.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.
Knowledge of billing guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers' Compensation insurance.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Previous experience handling claims, payment posting, denials, and appeals.
Ability to work full days from home without interruptions.
Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in Coding.
A minimum of two years of relevant experience in medical billing and coding.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
Frequent use of hands for typing and handling phone calls.
Spend approximately 50% of the workday speaking by phone.
Occasional standing, walking, and moving between sitting and standing positions.
