DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing/Coding Specialist to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will review and code patient visits into insurance claims, company bills, or self-pay bills, ensuring successful payment processing. Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients daily over the phone to answer questions or process payments.
- Code patient visits accurately each day.
- Assist team members with billing and insurance-related queries.
- Participate in weekly billing rotations for patient visits.
- Resolve payment issues by communicating with insurance companies.
- File electronic insurance claims and manage appeals.
- Respond to claim denials and work to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, whether on the phone or in person.
- Excellent customer service abilities with a professional, patient-focused approach.
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers' Compensation insurance billing guidelines.
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Prior experience with claims processing, payment posting, denials, and appeals.
- Ability to work full days from home, ensuring a focused, interruption-free work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate in Coding.
- At least two years of relevant experience in medical billing and coding.
