Extract information from operative reports, transcriptions, and other relevant documents.
Ensure precise application of CPT and associated modifiers, as well as ICD-10 codes for billing purposes.
Provide coding and billing education and feedback to healthcare providers.
Research, correct, resubmit, and appeal denied claims as necessary.
Stay updated on standard and unique payer policies and procedures.
Maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 90%.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to self-educate as needed.
Demonstrated proficiency in customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
AAPC or AHIMA certification (CPC, CCS-P) required.
Minimum 2 Years Of Medical Coding Experience Required.Experience with Asthma, Allergy, and Colo-Rectal surgery considered a plus.
Physical Requirements And Working ConditionsSedentary work involving lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally.
Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled office environment.
