Join a dynamic team in the field of public health with a focus on organizing and managing impactful events for the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group. As the Event Planner/Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating a major symposium and training course, scheduled for April 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work closely with a diverse team and stakeholders worldwide.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning and Coordination:
Manage logistics for diabetes epidemiology events, including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual needs.
Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations for participants and speakers.
Develop detailed event timelines and budgets to ensure seamless execution.
Marketing And OutreachCreate and implement innovative marketing strategies to promote diabetes epidemiology events and initiatives.
Develop engaging content for promotional materials, including social media posts and website updates.
Utilize digital marketing tools to maximize outreach and engagement with target audiences.
Project Management And Financial OversightEnsure adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
Track expenditures, reconcile invoices, and maintain accurate financial records.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines specific to federal contracts.
QualificationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital marketing platforms/tools.
Knowledge of diabetes epidemiology and/or public health principles is advantageous.
Experience in financial management, budgeting, and federal contract compliance preferred.
Ability to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure project specifications are met.
