Join Our Team as a Patient Assistance Care Coordinator
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Assistance Care Coordinator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the patient services experience by providing exceptional support to patients, care teams, and healthcare providers.
A Typical Day in the Life of a Patient Assistance Care Coordinator:
  • Respond to high-volume inbound call inquiries from patients, care teams, and healthcare providers regarding patient assistance program eligibility criteria, patient enrollment status, or refill requests for already enrolled patients.
  • Process Patient Assistance enrollment applications in a timely manner, including:
  • Reviewing enrollment forms and supporting documentation to assess patient eligibility based on program guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Determining patient eligibility based on program criteria, which may involve insurance benefits verification.
  • Actively listen to each customer, assess their needs, and respond with demonstrated patience and courtesy.
  • Review and identify missing or incorrect information within program service requests/program applications.
  • Report Adverse Events/Product Complaint inquiries in accordance with SOPs and good manufacturing practices.
  • Provide timely feedback regarding service failures or customer concerns.
  • Effectively utilize our internal technology platform to complete claims processing and keep workflows moving.

Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, or equivalent experience required; completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 6 months of customer service experience, payer benefits experience (reimbursement, prior authorization, etc.), healthcare industry experience, or healthcare-related certification, license, or equivalent coursework is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, as this is an office-based position.
  • Flexibility to travel, although very minimal.
  • Willingness to work at our location in the River Ridge Commerce Center at 150 Hilton Drive, Jeffersonville, IN. (Toll reimbursement program available for eligible employees.)
  • Encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for on-site work.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods, use hands to type, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.
  • Flexibility to travel, although very minimal.
  • Standard 8.5-hour shifts between 8 AM and 11 PM, Monday through Friday, with shifts assigned based on business needs.
  • Professional office environment utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
