The RoleAs a Quality Engineer on our team, you'll be a key player in our mission to deliver high-quality software. You'll work closely with both technical and business teams, contributing your expertise to create, execute, and monitor test scripts. Your role is crucial in providing quality assurance guidance to our agile Engineering team, focusing on best practices and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with QAs, QEs, Business Analysts, and Developers in cross-functional agile project teams.
- Contribute to feature file scenarios, test planning, and estimations.
- Identify and plan testing tasks for new user stories during planning sessions.
- Pair with Developers in Test to understand automated test design using Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology.
- Create, maintain, and monitor automation tests and metrics, and review test cases from other QEs.
- Own and track defects through the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and identify root causes.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for all features developed by the delivery teams.
Expert-level Knowledge And Experience With
- TDD & BDD (Cucumber / Gherkin)
- Test automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Cypress)
- Modern test automation practices and tools
- IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse)
- Java frameworks (Spring, SpringBoot)
- Version control systems (Mercurial, Git)
- Testing tools (Concordion, Postman, REST Assured)
- Page Object Model for web testing
- Databases (SQL: IBM DB2, MariaDB, PostgreSQL; NoSQL: MongoDB)
- Data formats (XML, JSON, YAML)
- Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Xray)
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins)
- Windows & Linux environments
- Cloud platforms (primarily Google Cloud Platform)
- Mobile (iOS/Android) and Retail POS testing
- Ability to build relationships across the business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Confidence to ask questions and challenge opinions constructively
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
