Position OverviewWe're seeking a Senior Event Marketing Manager to support a Department of Defense (DoD) government customer. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various marketing events to promote our products and services while enhancing brand visibility. You'll manage all aspects of event planning, from initial concept to post-event analysis, ensuring successful outcomes and positive attendee experiences.
Work Location:
This position is primarily remote with some travel within the U.S. (approximately 20-30% of the time).
Key Responsibilities
  • Conference Management:
  • Plan and execute a minimum of two major conferences annually
  • Oversee all media aspects, including website design, printing, app UX, videos, and photography
  • Manage vendors in coordination with the conference planner
  • Create engaging attendee experiences using data-driven insights from past events
  • Conceptualize and execute award ceremonies, including awardee selection, promotion, and stage design
  • Establish a consultative relationship with the government client to drive conference-related decisions
  • Develop accurate budget projections based on financial data and industry best practices
  • Exhibit Hall Management:
  • Design floor plans and manage exhibitors for two conferences
  • Conceptualize exhibitor packages and optimize attendee experiences
  • Marketing and Promotion:
  • Develop and execute multi-faceted, multi-media marketing campaigns to drive attendance
  • Collaborate with Finance and Contracts departments on conference contracts and financial reporting
  • Project Management:
  • Create and oversee project management deliverables to ensure contract compliance
  • Solve complex, tactical assignments to ensure client satisfaction
  • Prepare progress reports on technical deliverables for cross-functional teams
  • Relationship Building:
  • Develop external and internal professional networks to support long-term conference planning and contract management
  • Serve as a communication liaison between stakeholders, including the event management team, executive leadership, and government client teams
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and developing communication strategies for events of various sizes
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding attendance goals
  • Portfolio showcasing relevant prior experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience marketing events for DoD program offices
  • Proficiency with Cvent or equivalent event management platforms
  • Intermediate or advanced video editing skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Successful management of events with 750 attendees
