Position: Marketing and Communications Director (Remote)
Location: United States (Remote, with preference for candidates in CA, CO, AZ, or MI)
OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Marketing and Communications Director. This position holds the responsibility of spearheading the development and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies for our organization. As the Marketing and Communications Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping the voice and brand of our organization, ensuring consistency, integrity, and resonance across all communication channels. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to make a significant impact in advancing our mission while fostering connections within the American church community.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that effectively engage and connect the American church with the needs of persecuted followers of Jesus, while enhancing brand awareness, loyalty, and donor satisfaction.
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Marketing and other stakeholders to brainstorm and execute content ideas and schedules.
Create various written materials, including direct mail copy, website articles, video scripts, email copy, magazine content, social media posts, and reflective articles.
Coordinate with the Associate Marketing Director to align marketing and communication strategies and plans.
Oversee and provide guidance to third-party contractors involved in direct mail, video projects, or other communication needs.
Utilize data analytics to inform marketing and communication strategies, seeking opportunities for optimization and growth.
Adapt and execute global thematic content plans for the US market.
Lead and manage a growing team, fostering a culture aligned with organizational mission and values.
Provide editorial oversight of all print, digital, social media, and email communications to ensure consistency with branding and mission.
Develop content strategies to engage and expand the supporter audience, understanding their unique needs and preferences.
Collaborate with development communications and other experts to establish cross-organizational processes.
Strategize initiatives to increase engagement with the Open Doors brand within the American Christian community.
RequirementsStrong personal faith aligned with Open Doors' statement of faith.
Passion for both the local and global Church and a commitment to working across denominational and cultural lines.
Demonstrated dedication to the mission of strengthening persecuted Christians.
Excellent editing, writing, and copywriting skills.
Proficiency in digital analytics and audience data with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, journalism, publishing, or content production.
Previous Experience In a Non-profit Or Fundraising Environment Preferred.Deep understanding of the American evangelical landscape.
Proficiency in various social media platforms and email marketing tools.
Familiarity with CMS systems and willingness to learn new platforms.
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products.
Skills in HTML, video production, audio production, and proficiency in non-English languages considered advantageous.
Existing networks within Christian communities, publishing, music, creative, social media, and design industries are a plus.
Salary$70,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
