SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Technical Customer Consultant to join our team. As an experienced Python, SQL, and Cloud backend engineer, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Insurance Policy Administration customers in diagnosing and resolving complex challenges. If you are a critical thinker with strong backend engineering skills, self-motivated, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, we want to hear from you.
ResponsibilitiesUtilize debuggers, logs, stack traces, SQL, DataDog, and Python code to understand application behavior, isolate and resolve configuration issues, and identify bugs.
Address complex inquiries about our software, its configuration, and functionality.
Provide recommendations to clients and create detailed feature specifications to meet their needs.
Collaborate with engineering, hosting, and data teams to escalate critical issues and defects, providing business impact assessments and contributing to solutions.
Maintain customer updates in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs) and document reproducible JIRA defect reports.
Deliver excellent service over phone and in writing, documenting customer-facing issue resolutions and technical best practices.
Test API endpoints and participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
3 years of experience working through complex ticketing systems.
2 years of experience in the Property & Casualty insurance space.
2 years of hands-on experience in web development, with expertise in Python backend development.
1 year of experience with Django and/or Web.py.
1 year of MySQL query, report writing, and DBA experience.
Enterprise-level experience with AWS technologies, including EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, Amazon S3, CloudWatch, and Step Functions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and willingness to learn as you go.
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience working in an Ubuntu environment (Linux), including SSH'ing into sites, running shell tools/scripts, navigation, and basic administration.
Experience Working At a Startup Company.Familiarity with Zendesk.
