About The RoleWe're seeking a dedicated and skilled Claim Examiner to join our team, focusing on Travel Insurance Claims. This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely and make a meaningful impact by ensuring fair and efficient claim resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Management: Investigate, evaluate, and settle claims using a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to ensure fair and timely outcomes.
  • Reserve Adjustments: Adjust reserves or provide recommendations to align with corporate policies, contributing to a reduced loss ratio.
  • Complex Claims Handling: Manage complex claims with a high level of service, ensuring thorough and effective file handling.
  • Claims Processing: Process claims within your designated authority, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines.
  • Data Verification: Examine and verify claims data, conducting further investigations as needed to ensure claims are valid and settlements are in line with company practices.
  • Documentation: Enter claim payments, reserves, and new claims into the computer system, maintaining clear and concise documentation.
  • Legal Coordination: Work with legal counsel on claims that require litigation, ensuring proper handling of legal aspects.
  • Information Gathering: Contact or interview claimants, medical professionals, or employers to gather additional information as needed.
  • File Management: Maintain detailed claim files, including records of settled claims and those requiring further analysis.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Licensing: Active New York State adjuster's license required; multiple state licenses are a plus.
  • Experience: 2-4 years in a similar role with experience in a claims production environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in analytical and document management software, MS Office applications, and database queries.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a solid understanding of medical and legal terminology.
  • Knowledge: General understanding of state and national laws and regulations.
