Reporting to the Managing Director of Quality, Risk, and Compliance, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and evaluation of our insurance needs. Your responsibilities will include analyzing data from audits, claims, renewals, and financial reports to ensure optimal coverage at the best cost. You will conduct policy reviews, implement risk management processes, and develop strategies to handle and mitigate risks effectively, helping us maintain low loss ratios.

Essential FunctionsExternal Organization Insurance Risk Management
  • Identify, communicate, measure, and manage company-wide risk.
  • Handle insurance procurement, develop and implement risk management and compliance policies, and manage claims and litigation.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, underwriters, and third-party administrators.
  • Evaluate and recommend insurance policies, including Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Directors and Officers, and Cyber-risk.
  • Assist with insurance placements and renewals.
  • Track and coordinate insurance policy renewals and gather necessary data.
  • Investigate and resolve property and liability claims, working closely with the Managing Director of Quality, Risk, and Compliance.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and develop plans to address loss events.
Internal Insurance Risk Management
  • Collaborate with departments on incident reports and claims.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement risk management standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for potential risk exposures, promote loss prevention, and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct audits to verify adherence to policies and maintain high customer service standards.
Insurance Claims Management
  • Coordinate with HR and Risk Management on all phases of the claims process, from intake to settlement.
  • Manage workers' compensation and incident reporting programs, assessing and reporting claims to carriers.
  • Maintain relationships with insurance brokers and manage document requests and submissions.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management required; Master's degree in Risk Management preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing business insurance and risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of business insurance functions and best practices.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Risk Management certification preferred.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Confident in presenting data and making data-driven recommendations.
  • Commitment to quality work, ethics, and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Work ArrangementThis role offers a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work remotely and in the office. Occasional in-person meetings may be required.
Work Environment
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Flexibility required for scheduling and work locations, including occasional travel to various sites.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crawl as needed.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
