Job Opportunity: Collateral Underwriter
ResponsibilitiesAs a Collateral Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in our underwriting process, ensuring sound lending decisions based on thorough analysis of loan collateral. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing market data to assess annual property income for short-term rental properties.
- Evaluating borrower equity in residential and commercial assets for refinances.
- Reviewing collateral comparables, condition, and sales histories.
- Assessing appraisals and third-party valuation products.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating across departments to enhance process efficiency and quality.
- Making recommendations for underwriting policy improvements.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage or title environments.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, self-starting, and able to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business or related field.
- Experience managing small to mid-scale projects.
- Familiarity with Calyx Point and SalesForce.
- Remote positions available in select states.
- Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm CST.
- Compensation: $28.00 - $29.50/hr (Non-Exempt/Hourly/Overtime Eligible).
