Position Purpose As a Senior Mortgage Analyst at the company, you will play a pivotal role in assessing mortgage-related risks, analyzing credit risk transfer transactions, and providing strategic insights to support our underwriting and risk management efforts. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will ensure sound underwriting practices and contribute to the overall success of our mortgage reinsurance underwriting team. Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the assessment of reinsurance submissions and model prospective deals to provide strategic insights to Senior Underwriters.
Review reinsurance contracts and agreements, analyzing changes to terms and implications.
Conduct detailed analysis of the in-force mortgage portfolio, evaluating risk levels, loss trends, and performance metrics.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for Senior Management regarding mortgage portfolio performance and potential opportunities.
Stay abreast of market trends and provide recommendations on exposure management strategies.
Collaborate with the Investment team to review mortgage-related analysis and align strategies.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
Thorough understanding of mortgage securitization or mortgage reinsurance structures.
In-depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting, credit risk transfer, and macroeconomic influences on the housing market.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, influencing stakeholders effectively.
Meticulous attention to detail in assessing mortgage risk and managing large datasets.
Strong interpersonal skills, fostering collaborative relationships across teams.
