Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of reinsurance submissions and model prospective deals to provide strategic insights to Senior Underwriters.
- Review reinsurance contracts and agreements, analyzing changes to terms and implications.
- Conduct detailed analysis of the in-force mortgage portfolio, evaluating risk levels, loss trends, and performance metrics.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for Senior Management regarding mortgage portfolio performance and potential opportunities.
- Stay abreast of market trends and provide recommendations on exposure management strategies.
- Collaborate with the Investment team to review mortgage-related analysis and align strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Thorough understanding of mortgage securitization or mortgage reinsurance structures.
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting, credit risk transfer, and macroeconomic influences on the housing market.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, influencing stakeholders effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail in assessing mortgage risk and managing large datasets.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering collaborative relationships across teams.
