Job SummaryWe are seeking diligent Title Examiners for the states of Tennessee and Alabama. As a Title Examiner, you will play a pivotal role in abstracting and examining documents from public records to provide accurate title opinions. Your expertise will ensure clear titles, identify any potential issues, and maintain high standards of professionalism throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
- Abstract and examine documents from public records, including deeds, liens, and assessments, to assess title conditions and insurability.
- Utilize title plant software to analyze and evaluate record documents for ownership, legal descriptions, and any title-related implications.
- Communicate effectively with customers and management, explaining chain of title, exceptions, and requirements clearly and professionally.
- Identify and propose solutions for any title defects, ensuring the integrity of the title process.
- Assess risks and liabilities, promptly escalating concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain productivity and delivery standards while collaborating closely with customers and escrow staff.
- Prepare comprehensive title commitments in accordance with company procedures.
- Participate in special projects and assist with miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- Proficiency with title searching software preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in title examination in Alabama and Tennessee.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting policies, real estate law, and title procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work efficiently within established time frames, even in fast-paced environments.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Prior experience with metes and bounds properties and title commitment production.
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Additional training in relevant software preferred.
- Minimum of five years of industry experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
- Ability to sit, stand, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity required for detailed examination tasks.
- Moderate noise level in a professional office environment.
