Supplier Management: Cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with major suppliers, ensuring timely and high-quality acquisitions. Collaborate closely with Production Planning and Operations Managers to align production schedules and quantities.
Procurement Oversight: Spearhead the procurement process, including international sourcing and tendering. Ensure adherence to procurement policies and standards, and manage contract preparation and execution.
Quality Assurance: Partner with Quality Assurance teams to verify that all procured goods meet stringent standards for quality, efficacy, and safety.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, proactively addressing any issues that arise while maintaining accurate procurement data. Collaborate with freight forwarding teams to manage emergency orders effectively.
Strategic Sourcing: Design and implement sourcing strategies aimed at managing material costs and establishing a reliable supply base. Analyze market trends and cost drivers to enhance procurement strategies.
Continuous Improvement: Champion proactive improvements in the procurement process, encouraging innovation and reducing total cost of ownership.
Qualifications
Education: An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years in procurement and management is needed, preferably within the aerospace or defense industries.
Skills: A solid foundation in purchasing practices, quality assurance systems, and project management. Knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations and vendor-managed inventory is advantageous.
Traits: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a solid understanding of the technical aspects related to production. Proven ability to manage teams and navigate complex procurement processes.
