Are you passionate about shaping the future of renewable energy? We're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic leader to join our team as a Vice President of Procurement. This is a fully remote role for candidates based outside of the New York Metropolitan area, with an option for a hybrid work arrangement for those in the NYC area. About The RoleAs the Vice President of Procurement, you will be at the forefront of our mission to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and more cost-effective. You'll play a crucial role in developing procurement strategies and leading commercial negotiations for cutting-edge energy storage and solar PV goods and services.
What You'll DoLead and Innovate: Manage the overall procurement and estimating strategy, ensuring alignment with project and organizational goals.
Contract Management: Work closely with legal teams to develop and manage equipment supply and EPC agreements, ensuring compliance with market standards and project requirements.
Post-Execution Oversight: Ensure that all contractual obligations are met on time, within budget, and according to project specifications. Facilitate smooth transitions of contract activities to project management teams.
Relationship Building: Maintain and cultivate relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and technology partners. Seek out and establish new strategic partnerships.
Market Expansion: Develop procurement initiatives in new markets, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with technical and compliance teams to qualify and audit suppliers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, project management, asset management, and business development teams to analyze procurement options and recommend optimal solutions.
RFP Management: Lead the RFP process to select the best suppliers for major equipment and EPC services based on quality, cost, and contractual terms.
Market Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends and regulatory conditions to inform strategy recommendations to leadership.
Networking: Attend industry tradeshows to build new vendor relationships.
Estimation Excellence: Continuously improve internal and external estimating capabilities for solar and storage products.
Requirements12-15 years of experience in the energy industry (solar, wind, BESS, traditional generation, etc.).
Proven leadership experience in procurement, estimating, strategic sourcing, or related fields.
Expertise with EPC contracts and Supply Purchase Agreements.
Deep knowledge of solar and energy storage equipment and suppliers.
Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage relationships and drive success both internally and externally.
Strategic and analytical thinking with a global perspective.
