Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Responsibilities & Job Description
• Job brief
o We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist to become an integral part of our team. You will help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments in addition to other activities.
o This individual must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment while following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will be able to manage and maintain the daily flow of shipments, manage loading and unloading of heavy items from different types of vehicles ranging from person vans and pick up trucks to tractor trailers, distribute information and goods where needed within the company, and have great attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
o Pay is based on experience and capabilities.
• Responsibilities
o Assemble, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material professionally.
o Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material.
o Arrange appropriate transportation of products and track associated data.
o Manage shipping supplies and request reorder of goods when required.
o Assist customers with shipping inquiries.
o Data entry and utilization of ERP software.
o Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Requirements
o Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or other related fields.
o Ability to logically and safely package items using boxes, shrink and boat wrap, banding and pallets.
o Familiarity with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, and Word specifically.
o Above average oral and written communication skills. o Experience with operating a forklift/tow motor and overhead crane.
o Capability to handle physical workload and willingness to get dirty.
o Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in fast-paced environment.
o Strong organizational and time management skills
