GHD has a unique opportunity for a Senior Transportation Project Manager/Practice Leader (Highways) in Southern California! This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic professional and leader to participate in supporting our current clients and building new relationships through business development.
Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond.
Working with our transportation team, this position offers opportunities to continue building our large project portfolio, and will see you involved in
  • Project Delivery/ Management of sophisticated on- and off-system highway, transportation planning, and traffic engineering projects
  • Lead transportation planning and traffic engineering projects and team(s)
  • Bring you technical expertise and knowhow to our young and talented team of engineers and professionals
  • Support business development on behalf of GHD, positioning for new work and assisting in securing projects in the highway and major roadway spaces
  • Implement/develop delivery standards
  • Lead sub consultants
  • Provide technical solutions to our client owners to create lasting community benefit through the work we do with our clients, our operations and our community contributions.
What you will bring to the team
  • Excellence associated with the production and delivery of on- and off-system highway, transportation planning, and traffic engineering projects
  • Proven professional judgement and commercial competence, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems for our clients
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the Caltrans project delivery and procedures for projects in California including project initiation documents and project approval and environmental clearance documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Caltrans Oversight process for local agency delivery of state highway system improvements and projects.
  • Confirmed excellence at all stages of the project life-cycle, from preparing bids to feasibility studies, consenting, detailed design and data analysis, and client management
  • Sound professional judgement and commercial savvy, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget.
  • Portfolio of transportation projects in Southern California.
  • A desire to coach, guide, and mentor to technically strengthen the team capabilities is super important!
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience with technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & site development industry, including a strong background in highway planning, design and construction

Salary Range - $151,000 - $227,000 based on experience.
