GHG Corporation is Hiring a Sr. Systems Safety Engineer - NSN Near Webster, TX

Sr. SYSTEMS SAFETY ENGINEERJob opportunity is contingent upon award of the contract to GHG
Start Date: TBD (Early 2024)
Job PurposeThe Sr. System Safety Engineer is responsible for supporting our Strategic Contract to NASA's Near Space Network Program. NASA's Near Space Network fulfills the essential needs of user missions, empowering them with mission-critical communications and navigation services and enabling the transmission of science and exploration data to and from space. As a single point of service for missions in the near-space region - out to two million kilometers away - the network connects users with either government or commercial service providers.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop and document Integrated Hazard Analyses for hardware, software, test and ground operations activities.
  • Provide systems safety support to Safety Review Panel processes.
  • Support and maintain hazard reports, safety analysis reports, and software safety analyses.
  • Provide safety-engineering support to safety review panels.
  • Develop system safety requirements, perform various safety analyses such as hazard analysis, safety risks, and fault trees.
  • Input to studies, support design and program reviews, perform safety risk assessments, and assure system safety issues are resolved in support of program milestones and flight schedules.
  • Support resolution of in-flight anomalies, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Systems Safety or in support of system safety engineering in an aviation or space environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or science with a minimum of 7-15 years in a technical field.
  • Problem solving and presentation experience. Familiarity with Safety engineering. Proficiency in Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Requires ability to acquire NASA badging.
Working EnvironmentThis job operates in an office environment and may be performed remotely as needed.
Position ExpectationsThis is a full-time position and typically 1st shift. Travel within the continental United States is expected up to 20% of the time.
