Job Overview

A growing company Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their growing team! In this role, you will orchestrate all payroll processing activities, ensuring the accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Key Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Payroll Specialist, one of your primary responsibilities is to oversee and ensure prompt and accurate processing of payroll, adhering to all weekly payroll deadlines. You will also review and post payroll reports, distribute notifications, and offer assistance during peak payroll periods.
  • Your role extends to reviewing and authorizing all entries made by the Payroll Specialist, including those related to new hires, rehires, and status changes. Additionally, you'll handle weekly union check requests, garnishments, and various reports.
  • Confidentiality is paramount, particularly when dealing with sensitive payroll information.
  • You will assist the Payroll Manager with weekly and monthly tasks, including garnishments, new hire reporting, monthly union reports, or any other requested payroll reports.
  • Apart from your regular tasks, you may be called to perform other duties or partake in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree or have seven or more years of experience in payroll.
  • Experience in a supervisory role is a plus
  • You should have knowledge of in-house payroll procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills, both oral and written, are critical.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel, is necessary.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work within deadlines is helpful.
