The Service Bureau Clerk is responsible for the preparation of outgoing mail, courier packages, and bulk shipments. This primarily includes but is not limited to validation of the correct materials and quantities for each job, printing of labels, insertion, sealing, counting, and metering tasks. The Service Bureau Clerk will reference the shipping schedule, move the material to the dock for pickup, complete all required production control documentation, and enter job transactions in the ERP system. The Service Bureau Clerk is also responsible for processing return mail. This includes receiving, counting, logging, processing, and transferring materials. The position requires close attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, a solid customer focus, a sharp technical aptitude and a continuous improvement mindset. Duties and Responsibilities:
Return mail receiving, logging, processing and transferring
Preparation and verification of packages for expedited shipments
Preparation of mail for pickup in accordance to the shipping schedule
Completion of job transactions in the ERP system
Validation of correct materials and counts
Inspection of products as necessary
Validation of matching addresses for overpacked courier shipments.
Printing of labels and reports
Operation of a mail meter, strapper, and pallet jack
Operation of an automatic letter opener
Retrieval of material from the warehouse
Efficient and accurate with processing production jobs
Accuracy for all quality checks and to ensure conformance to company standards
Count finished products to determine if production orders are complete
Maintain machinery and work area in a clean and orderly condition at all times
Adhere to all safety regulations with regard to company policies and legal regulations
Produce high quality products in a timely manner with lowest scrap possible
Document and ship out orders from the department daily
Adhere to applicable ISO Work Instructions
Other relevant duties as assigned
Accountabilities:
Responsible for accurate processing of return mail.
Ensure ready orders are shipped in accordance to the schedule
Ensure labeling is correct
Accurately complete transactions with ERP and QA systems.
Compliance with Corporate and Local departmental KPI’s and Quality standards.
Job Specifications:
Work performed in a fast paced production setting.
Required to lift up to 45 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and reach and move about facility.
Overtime may be required.
Wearing of company furnished smock is mandatory.
Occasional travel, including international.
Qualifications and Skills:
High School Diploma; post-secondary education is preferred
Experience in a mailing or shipping environment is highly preferred
Mathematical ability required
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast pace and demanding environment
