Job Description

The Communications Coordinator supports the goals of the Communications Team to enhance the reputation, goals, and brand of Gift of Life Donor Program as a world leader in organ and tissue donation and transplantation. The position requires a marketing-minded communications professional ideally with hospital or Agency (PR or Ad) experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills to support an integrated communications program including earned, paid, and owned media. Individual must be highly motivated, collaborative, creative, have an eye for detail and enjoy a fast-paced, mission-focused work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working both autonomously and as part of a team to create and execute integrated communications campaigns and strategies to promote organ donor awareness and registration, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage deliverables for day-to-day execution of media partnerships to increase organ donor awareness and registration in region, working in close collaboration with all team members.
  • Manage production, cataloguing of marketing communications campaigns and materials. Coordinate all stages of material and content development production and distribution, maintaining consistent messaging and branding across all platforms. Provide direction/collaborate with designers, agencies, internal team.
  • Produce accurate, informative, and compelling copy for a wide array of communications formats and presentations including print, video and digital to advance Gift of Life’s mission, messages, and goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with marketing and communications colleagues at transplant centers and hospital partners. Identify opportunities for collaboration to increase organ donor awareness and registration.
  • Provide oversight of vendors and responsible fiscal management that maximizes budget to achieve optimal results.
  • Use metrics to gauge results, define success, and support continuous improvement.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years relevant, successful experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work with diverse group of volunteers, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in faced-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Clear, compelling writing, with samples.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple initiatives.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets and collaborating across a team.
  • Experience with video/photography.
  • Experience in social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
  • Agency and/or hospital communications/marketing experience preferred.
  • Requires demonstrated proficiency in: Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel.

Work Hours

Generally, Monday – Friday, 8:30 to 5 p.m. Some early morning, evening and weekend hours are required, as well as being “on call” for emergent issues.
