Gila River Resorts & Casinos is Hiring a Surveillance Assistant Shift Manager Swing Shift (Internal and GRIC Members Only) Near Chandler, AZ

Salary: Depending On Experience (DOE)

This position has the duties and responsibilities of the shift manager during the respective shift as assigned by the shift manager and in the absence of the shift manager is responsible to coordinate, manage and perform gaming floor performance auditing, investigations, evaluative and administrative duties to monitor the shift operation that contributes to satisfactory motivation and morale of assigned employees by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Acts as Shift Manager and implements and coordinates daily surveillance shift operation, including development and execution of daily and weekly work and break schedules, assigning surveillance personnel to specific tasks to provide adequate surveillance coverage and ensuring safety and surveillance of all physical areas within the gaming facility, hotel facility, off site controlled areas, parking areas, common grounds, employees, vendor representatives, non-gaming persons and guests.
  • Assists Shift Manager in implementing and updating/instructing surveillance personnel on departmental and related policies and procedures; assists Shift Manager in conducting employee evaluations, disciplinary review and follow-ups; conducts daily surveillance equipment inspections for compliance coverage(s).
  • Ensures all system cameras inside and outside of the casino are in physical working order.
  • Properly documents all surveillance and security incidents that occur within the casino on a timely basis and submits to the Site Manager and Corporate Director.
  • Assists Shift Manager in maintaining files and records on surveillance personnel as well as coordinating, monitoring and implementing in-service departmental training; assists with surveillance equipment maintenance and performs other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager.
  • Ensures all surveillance records are completed and electronically saved in an “on hold” status and maintains footage library per guidelines.
  • Ensures surveillance area and rooms(s) are maintained and presentable at all times.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

With the oversight of the Surveillance Shift Manager, manages multiple number of Surveillance personnel. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior surveillance experience required, preferably within a casino/gaming environment.
  • Management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows:

  • Must possess excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.

Important Notes

As a condition of employment, all new hires must pass the following:
