Gilbane is seeking an Instructional Designer II that will have the opportunity to leverage project management, communication, and creative skills to create best in class learning objects across a variety of modalities.?Instructional Designers partner with executive sponsors and industry leading Subject Matter Experts to define, design, and implement standalone and comprehensive learning solutions that directly impact company success. This role will sit primarily in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training curriculum and courses using a variety of delivery methods including web-based, instructor-led, blended learning and computer based tutorials
  • Develop and create learning messages that accommodate learner needs and characteristics, content, and objectives
  • Design presentations that effectively engage and communicate with all audiences.
  • Apply developments in instructional design and related fields to instructional design practice.
  • Recommend and advocate non-instructional solutions when appropriate
  • Responsible for planning and analysis of L&D content including conducting needs analysis and designing programs to overcome performance gaps
  • Design curricula and programs; determining the scope of the curriculum or program, specify courses based upon needs assessment outcomes, sequence courses for learners and groups of learner
  • Aligns instruction in accordance with needs assessment
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to elicit, synthesize, and validate
  • Determine and identify prerequisites given the type of subject matter, the needs of the learners, and the organization
  • Analyze the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their use in an instructional environment
  • Develop and implement formative and summative evaluation plans of L&D initiatives and manage the evaluation process
  • Create success measures and reports on business impact as well other training evaluation measures
  • Plan and manage instructional design projects
  • Ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies
Experience/Education Qualifications
  • BD or MS degree in Instructional Design, Education or Management
  • 3 years of experience in a training capacity involving curriculum design and development
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective interaction skills with clients and management
  • Excellent writing skills, including business communications and client information
  • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong working knowledge of simulations and authoring tools
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Familiarity with web-conferencing technologies
  • Business skills with a global mindset
  • Knowledge of the construction industry
