Gilbane Building Company is Hiring a Senior Project Executive - Mega Healthcare Near Minneapolis, MN

OverviewDo you consider yourself to be a highly technical, strong communicator with the desire to work in a team environment on complex projects? Gilbane is seeking a Senior Project Executive to be a representative of the Company responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome initially of a significant (appx $4B), five year healthcare project; as well as mentoring multiple Project Executives. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc. Note that this initial project is located in Rochester, MN.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Project Execution of Safety Requirements in collaboration with Safety Director/PX
  • Manage ensure that Gilbane's operational policies, including non-negotiables, are consistently followed on all projects per the Baseline.
  • Monitor overall performance of projects cradle to grave, including:
  • Implement and drive risk management strategies, track status and see through to resolution
  • Develop mitigation plans when needed
  • Implement effective project review process
  • Ensure Risk Assessment Forms are updated by PX's quarterly
  • Lead by example as PX (pending needs and scale of business)
  • Serve as PX when necessary on challenging projects
  • Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
  • Enforce project reporting requirements
  • Manage critical issues
  • Assume overall accountability for jobsite safety and quality
  • Mentor Project Executives
  • Control and administer the "people resources" including:
  • Recruiting and hiring
  • Long and short-range staff planning of assignments and transfers
  • Managing recoveries
  • Mentoring, coaching and developing all employees, including career development for emerging leaders
  • Proactively manage performance/terminations
  • Ensure that employees complete required training on time
  • Ensure that the appraisal process is completed on time and that managers are having meaningful development conversations
  • Review and recommend appropriate compensation and incentive payouts for STI and PPI
Qualifications EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • BS OR MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10-15 years in the lead role on healthcare projects valued at $300 million or larger
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong technical and communication skills are critical
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office (preferred)
