Gillette Children's is seeking a temporary Psychotherapist to work as part of our Wellbeing Team. This position is will be staffed until May 31, 2025. 

Part Time - approximately 15 hours per week
Work Schedule - 8-4:30 on weekdays, specific days/hours TBD

Purpose of position

The Psychotherapist delivers in-person short-term counseling to clinical staff to meet their psychological, social, and emotional needs, provides critical incident response, offers occasional training to promote and support mental health in the workplace, and supports a stigma-free culture around mental health issues. This position may also participate in program development, quality improvement, and education to meet the needs of Gillette staff.  

Compensation & Benefits Information:

  • The hourly wage for this opportunity is $34.77 to $52.13, with a median wage of $43.45/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Direct Therapeutic Services
    • Facilitates individual counseling and/or group therapy sessions clinical staff to address stress, burnout, trauma, and other mental health concerns.
    • Collaborates to develop coping strategies, addresses unhelpful or problematic behaviors, talks through specific issues,
    • Works to improve the individual’s emotional, psychological and behavioral concerns
    • Facilitates referrals into the benefit plan or community resources.
    • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Crisis Intervention
    • Participates and assists in facilitation of critical incident debriefings as needed.
    • Offers support and intervention during times of staff mental health crisis.
    • Develops and implements crisis management plans for staff as needed.
  • Training and Workshops
    • Designs and delivers training sessions for leaders on recognizing signs of mental health issues, providing support, and fostering a healthy work environment.
    • Educates on self-care strategies, stress management, team dynamics, and resilience building.
  • Collaboration and Consultation
    • Works with Child and Family Services, Wellbeing Program Coordinators, HR, and others to ensure comprehensive mental health support for clinical staff.
    • Provides consultation to leaders on work-related issues.
    • Assists in the implementation of wellbeing programs and initiatives for clinical staff.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of therapeutic interactions.
    • Tracks training sessions and participation to evaluate satisfaction with offerings and identify additional training needs.
    • Creates reports on the utilization and effectiveness of this program and assists with predicting future needs for services.
    • Provides regular reports on program activities and recommendations for ongoing support.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Currently licensed in Minnesota as a Psychologist (LP), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Critical incident stress debriefing experience.
  • Experience in work-related issues.

Preferred

  • Experience working with healthcare professionals or in high-stress environments.
  • Onsite EAP experience.
  • Experience facilitating education and training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills which establish rapport with staff served and communicate effectively.
  • Sound clinical judgement and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communications skills, including verbal, listening, and written.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare setting.
  • Efficiency, flexibility, and organizational skills are necessary.
