Gillette Children's is Hiring a Summer Intern Near Paul, MN

Job Details
DescriptionThe Gillette Internship Program aligns students’ interests with activities that relate to Gillette’s strategic objectives. This intern will work with leaders and other staff on projects and activities that relate to their knowledge and skills. This internship is in support of the St. Paul Patient Engagement and HIM teams for administrative duties from June through August.
Throughout the program, the intern will gain familiarity with the operations of a specialty children’s hospital, and have the opportunity to learn through project work. The program is part-time paid employment, with a minimum of 20 hours per week. The intention of the program is to provide the student with a formal experience in preparation for their career.
Primary Job Responsibilities And Duties
  • Printing paperwork based on reports
  • Faxing documents
  • Working within the electronic medical records for special project work
  • Collecting documents for scanning across multiple areas of the hospital/clinic
  • Scanning documents into the system
  • Indexing documents
  • Cleaning patient charts and other areas as assigned
  • Helping with Guest Services needs
  • Greeting patients and families during downtime
  • Critical thinking and ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment to ensure timely and effective response to patient and organization needs.
  • Ability to take direction and apply learnings independently and effectively
  • Attention to detail in working with Patient Health Information
QualificationsRequired
  • Must be currently enrolled, or graduated from, High School
  • Eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • Able to provide vaccination information and documentation of a TST (Mantoux) test.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
  • Functional in Microsoft Office programs
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
