Girl Scouts Black Diamond Council is Hiring a Community Outreach Manager Near Charleston, WV

Description

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Classification: Salaried, Non-exempt; Regular full-time

Location: Charleston, WV – Girl Scout and Volunteer Resource Center

Purpose: Build relationships with local companies, community groups and government agencies to promote visibility, offer program opportunities, and grow Girl Scout membership throughout the council’s geographic and demographic communities.

Direct Reports: Part-time direct delivery staff, as needed

Salary: $38,500

Benefits:

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

· Promote partnerships with other community groups, agencies and organizations throughout the council’s geographic footprint.

· Build relationships with county and local education administration for the benefit of girls in West Virginia, Ohio, Virginia and Maryland.

· Use membership, program and population data to drive membership retention and growth.

· Identify and reduce service barriers for girls and families.

· Reach targeted markets, such as marginalized, underserved and at-risk communities.

· Facilitate competitor market research.

· Establish funding for free and reduced cost programs and services.

· Oversee outreach program delivery at identified schools, community centers, churches, private locations, camps, etc.

· Develop educational resources and learning opportunities for identified key stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Associates accepted with a minimum of two years’ experience in event planning, business, community development, non-profit or marketing.

· Data analysis experience preferred.

Position Requirements:

· Ability to travel throughout council jurisdiction.

· Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance

· Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include some evenings and weekends. 

Physical Requirements:

· Occasionally moves throughout the facility to access file cabinets, office machinery, supplies, etc. 

· Occasionally moves items that weigh up to 25 pounds.

· Must be able to sit in a meeting or at a workstation and a computer screen for prolonged periods.
