JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering the Council's Program Strategy through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to Girl Scout members, including girls grades K-12, and adult volunteers. The primary focus is to ensure that girl programming within the council utilizes the National Program Portfolio to deliver high-quality immersive experiences, incorporates the principles of girl led, experiential and cooperative learning and is aligned with, and results in, positive Girl Scout leadership outcomes as defined in GSNETX's Program Strategy. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing GSNETX Council sponsored programs including workshops, special events, resources and enrichment opportunities. This position collaborates with peers in other departments to align calendar year and achieve organization goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of the Girl Scout National Program Portfolio and develop aligned curriculum to serve local needs.
  • Implements the GSNETX STEM, Healthy Living and Financial Literacystrategies through curriculum and council offerings with a focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
  • Trains volunteers to ensure a robust, quality program for girls participating in Girl Scout troops.
  • Ensures programs have a mental health lens where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with other departments within GSNETX to design and develop programs and curriculum to meet their needs (i.e. recruitment, membership, product sales, retail and marketing).
  • Identifies needs and trends of membership and develops programs and solutions accordingly.
  • Trains partners and facilitators on Girl Scout leadership experience best practices.
  • Supervises program implementation by partners or facilitators and provide feedback and suggests for improvement.
  • Trains partners and facilitators to follow all safety standards and established GSNETX policies and procedures for activities with girls, volunteers, parents and program partners.
  • Cultivates community partnerships with volunteers and external organizations to enable robust program delivery that aligns with council DEI and strategy initiatives.
  • Advances Mission Delivery by providing stakeholders expertise on girls, girl issues and outcomes.
  • Identifies the best partners for fund-development opportunities.
  • Manages budget for individual events and utilize discretion to make decisions about fund allocations.
  • Is timely and professional in all communication with parents, volunteers, coworkers and girls.
  • Establishes best practice to ensure efficiency and consistency in completing administrative tasks.
  • Creates and implements marketing strategies to promote Council-hosted events.
  • Project manager of various programs. This includes, but is not limited to, pre and post event logistics, curriculum development and overseeing budget.
  • Develops and negotiates program agreements with third party facilitators.
  • Ensure Girl Scouts has a robust presence in the Tyler/Longview/Marshall community.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications :
  • Previous experience with youth focused program/service delivery
  • Strong project management skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process development
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is greatly beneficial to this role
  • Ability to work with youth from grades K-12
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach to program design and implementation
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, event management, hospitality, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years progressive experience in children's programming, including program design, implementation & evaluation.
  • Strong Project Management Skills.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated strength in both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work independently within the framework of the council's plan of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom this job puts them in contact.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

  • Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers' license and meet GSNETX driving record & automobile insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and council service centers, as necessary.
