Role Description

This is a contract-based remote role for a Senior Information Security Engineer. The Senior Information Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security of applications, networks, and information systems. The role will involve day-to-day tasks such as conducting security assessments, implementing security controls, monitoring network traffic, analyzing security vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents. The Senior Information Security Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain security measures.

Role and Responsibilities

· Solution design and review of all business process and system level changes as part of continual service

improvement.

· You will provide design perspectives to the process teams to maintain consistency, stability and supportability of the solution and processes in conjunction with maintaining the organizational roadmap for the solution while utilizing current vendor solution capabilities and the product roadmap.

· You will facilitate meetings with system owners and other stakeholders to gather business requirements.

· You will translate business requirements into user stories for the development team.

· Working with the development team to continuously refine the documented requirements.

· You will perform stakeholder engagement, outreach activities, and facilitate Agile ceremonies.

· Develop procedures, manuals, and other documentation for the systems developed based on the requirements gathered

· You will support testing activities during each sprint.

· You will work with onsite and offshore developers to provide insight on business requirements and functional design.

Skills

· Experience integrating data sources and API connectors to ensure seamless data flow for risk assessment

and analysis

· Knowledge and understanding of cyber security and vulnerability management concepts

· Excellent communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical

staff at all levels of the organization.

· Excellent knowledge of the architectural principles of cloud based platforms including SaaS, XaaS, & PaaS

· Experience with scripting languages such as Groovy, Python and shell scripts.

· Experience software development and related technologies such as Java, REST API, and GraphQL.

Qualifications and Education Requirements;

· Bachelor’s or higher degree or equivalent work experience.

· 4 years’ experience in security systems engineering experience

• Strong knowledge of security best practices and industry standards
• Ability to perform security assessments and vulnerability testing
• Experience in incident response and security incident management
• Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• CISSP, CISM, or other relevant certifications are a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
