Giuliana Wine Company is based in Denver, Colorado. We focus on small production wineries that are dedicated to the quality of their craft. We are looking for an individual to join our team as our Full Time Bookkeeper. We seek someone with experience in accounting who can hit the ground running in a detail-oriented, organized, and dynamic environment.

Job Functions:

• Document financial transactions, including entering financial data, preparing, and posting journal entries, and checking figures, postings, and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation.
• Assist with preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Process semi-monthly Payroll through an automated payroll system.
• Maintain and balance the general ledger & monitor accounts by balancing entries.
• Oversee and maintain a well-run system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; define bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality historical records by filing documents.
• Reconciliations of accounts will be handled by our external accounting firm to ensure independent review and accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Assist in planning and processing weekly payments to suppliers in foreign currencies.
• Oversight of Accounts Receivable specialist for Colorado direct sales.
• Preparation and submission of Colorado excise tax as well as proper excise tax reporting for markets in other states served.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience required.
• 5 years of experience in private accounting, business, or bookkeeping (payroll experience is a plus!).
• Strong technology skills with QuickBooks or similar accounting software experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and use pivot tables.
• Enjoy working with a team, have a positive attitude, and are willing to learn new things and accept new challenges.
• Very strong attention to detail.
• Understanding and experience of foreign currency exchange is a plus
• A strong sense of urgency to handle a variety of projects and meet required deadlines, and the ability to deal with urgent and/or unexpected client matters that may arise.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time in-office position with the option for part-time remote work; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
