Purpose

This is a microbiology laboratory role where performing analysis on raw materials and finished

products in a high throughput laboratory is the day to day priority.

Project work and additional assignments/areas of responsibility will also be expected for this experienced analyst, under minimal

supervision. The successful candidate will have previous experience in food microbiology QC

laboratories or similar industry (pharmaceutical, beverage, flavours, cosmetic, etc.).

The role is within a highly collaborative team with opportunities to learn from and share knowledge with others.

Core Responsibilities

Log samples and maintain sample flow within QC.

Performs microbiological testing and evaluation of products or incoming ingredients as

identified by the current Givaudan specification for the item.

Enter test results into SAP timely resulting in an acceptance or rejection

Communicate rejections and information updates to key contacts in Quality, Operations,

Purchasing and Customer Care as needed. Types of communications include e-mail,

making notes in system and/or verbal.

Identify opportunity for improvements in QC.

Maintain work in a hygienic and safe work environment.

Provide backup and support to team members as necessary.

Perform environmental monitoring in the production plant.

Academic Background

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Professional Experience

3 to 7 years experience in a directly related microbiology laboratory.

Preference for FDA BAM testing method verification, challenge studies, shelf life studies

and similar experience.

Proven ability to problem solve and be self motivated.

Technical Skills

Aseptic technique and knowledge of FDA BAM, ISO, CMMEF compendia methods

Self-motivated and ability to follow through and complete assigned projects outside of

routine testing and day to day operations of the lab.
