GJL Partners has been retained on a Controller search for an $80M revenue manufacturing firm in the South Bay Los Angeles area. This highly profitable business is in need of a Corporate Controller to help with a new division of the company. Responsibilities will range from day-to-day accounting, standard costing, financial reporting, management, and much more. This position will be hybrid – 4 days in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the corporate accounting functions.
• Organize, direct and control general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and international consolidations.
• Develop and maintain standard production costing models, perform audits to determine accuracy.
• Provide financial support to all departments and assist them in areas of purchasing, inventory, costing, budgeting and understanding of financial statements.
• Develop and maintain strategic plans, goals and objectives to help ensure business growth and operations effectiveness.
• Responsible for accounting policies and procedures
• Maintain the relationship with the external auditors, as well as manage the quarterly reviews and annual audit.
• Present financial performance to executive management team.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A bachelor’s or advanced degree, ideally in accounting or finance, with at least 8 years of strong accounting experience
• CPA or MBA would be nice to have
• Manufacturing experience required; experience with Standard Costing (BOM, WIP, etc.)
• Strong budget and forecasting experience
• Strong financial analysis
• Experience overseeing supervising, directing, and coaching staff
