JOB
This position reports to the Director of Student Life and is a key member of the university’s Student Life team. The Coordinator will be involved with the daily administration of the outdoor adventure and collegiate eSports programs. The Coordinator will also handle daily communication and interaction with students, making it a priority to grow and develop them academically, socially, and athletically. eSports activities will include communications with eSports club programs to develop awareness, evaluation of talent, filling the roster to the required number, coaching, inviting recruits for visits, and working with Admissions, Financial Aid, and many other departments across campus. Outdoor adventure activities include planning outdoor excursions that will challenge students to enjoy the outdoors with a focus on fitness. The Coordinator is solely responsible for the recruitment of the eSports program and is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of both the Outdoor Adventure and eSports programs and serves as the face of the programs in relation to Glenville State University. The Coordinator will support the mission and values of Glenville State University and serve as a mentor to students and student-athletes.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Recruiting and retaining students for the eSports program.Conducting coaching and instruction activities during training, practice, and competition.Providing guidance and input on games selected for varsity competition.Providing input on the design and management of the eSports facility which includes the selection of equipment, as well as maintaining of same.Coordinating off-season, practice, and competition schedules.Assisting with team travel when necessary.Running camps, and promotional events.Working with the university advancement office to pursue sponsorship opportunities.Ensuring team compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.Continuously ensuring personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with GSU's brand.Coordinates and leads all aspects of outdoor adventure trips including scheduling, contract negotiations, promoting, facilitating, staffing, chaperoning, enforcing, policies and procedures, risk management, and communication with participants.Coordinates all aspects of outdoor adventure equipment rentals including development of policies and procedures, training of staff/students, purchasing, inventory, storage, and repair and maintenance of equipment.Serves as the departmental liaison to the High Adventure Club.
