Global Atlantic Financial Group is Hiring an Investment Office Analyst Near New York, NY
Global Atlantic’s Derivatives team is responsible for structuring, executing, and managing the firm’s derivatives portfolio. To support the firm’s growth, we are looking for an individual to help manage the execution of our derivative strategies. The position will primarily focus on management of our equity hedging programs, with the opportunity to gain exposure to cross asset trading and risk management practices at a global insurance company.
This position is in our New York City office.
Responsibilities:
Execute trades needed to support the firm’s equity-linked liability hedge programs
Support the day-to-day needs of the trading desk, including trade setup & booking across rates, equities & FX
Build and maintain tools to enhance trading efficiency and monitor hedge effectiveness
Improve reporting of derivatives portfolio for internal stakeholders
Assist in attribution of hedge program performance in collaboration with ALM and liability risk teams
Assist with hedge strategy design and implementation
Assess macroeconomic environment and market factors to generate trade ideas, strategies, and influence trade execution
Serve as derivatives subject matter expert when partnering with internal teams
Develop and expand knowledge of GAAP and Statutory hedge accounting regimes
Assist with maintaining derivative trading and valuation system, including testing support, version upgrades, new development projects
Qualifications:
Undergraduate or advanced degree required, STEM background preferred
2-4 year professional working experience, insurance or asset management background a plus
In depth knowledge of interest rate, equity, and FX derivatives
Experience trading equity derivatives preferred
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Programming experience (VBA, R, Python) required
Experience with Bloomberg, FIS/Front Arena, FX Connect, Tableau a plus
